This old apartment located in the old Japanese area of Taipei. The first floor was rented by a pawn shop and rest of the building has been empty after the former tenant - a Japanese company moved away 30 years ago. After various discussion and research, we decided to design a café, co-working space and a co-living space depends on the original construction of the building. Our goal is to create a community which encourages people and resources to interact from floor to floor. The refreshed interior provides a warm and welcoming spaces to bring the community together, giving the old house a new life. The project was my self-motivated project. Which I've done during my mandatory military service period. My role in this project is more like a project lead and assistant designer. Despite my limit free time in the military, I still work in almost every stage of this project. From team forming, money funding, business strategy, interior design, branding to wall painting. Doing my best to create the maximum effect from limited resources.
